Ancient Landscape 3

This series of prints are from original pieces by Edwin Rendall which were created using different media and techniques. 

The process began by building up layers of colour on watercolour paper. Marks were made on paper using graphite. They were then digitised and sent to the laser which engraved the marks directly onto the painting. The delicate engraving reveals how the original layers were initially built up. Finally, the whole piece was divided up and bounded using charcoal.

This series entitled ‘Ancient Landscapes’ seeks to illustrate how time has been divided into ages and epochs, and how lands have been taken and apportioned over millennia.

These prints are created using lightfast inks on archival paper. They are then float-mounted onto a backing and framed behind glass in a black frame.
